A-Ri-Yap! Ya-Sa-Sap!! A-Ri-Yap! Hi-Ya-Sa-Sap!!

I feel the forest tribes... the ethnic instruments... hahaha. It's been days since I started enjoying Higa Chuu's A-Ri-Yap! Ya-Sa-Sap!! background vocals. Yes! Yes! This entry is on the Valentine Kiss series since I can't get enough on Kai Yuujirou's version. hihi.

Chunks of Info about Valentine Kiss.

1. Valentine Kiss is an old 80's song by Kokusho Sayuri. You can see her live performance HERE. She's kawaii though. ^__^

2. Valentine Kiss is a valentine's day date song! The lyrics revolve on chocolate, carnival/amusement park date, and romance stuffs on valentine's day. Being sung by a girl is acceptable but in the case of PoT guys... nakakaloka sila. hahaha.

3. Valentine Kiss is a single released every or around Valentine's Day and sung by different PoT characters. And yeah! It's a Prince of Tennis tradition. hahaha. On 2004 was Atobe Keigo, 2005 was Oshitari Yuushi, 2006 was Atobe and Oshitari again though there's no difference from their previous releases (I hoped that year was for Tezuka. >_< haha). 2007 was Sanada Genichirou's. 2008's version is Kai Yuujirou. Banzai! Even Oishi and Shishido had their own versions which were included as a bonus track in their own albums. :D:D I'm now wondering how many versions were made for this? Hihi. I heard Lucky Star also made their own version :) Hehe this song is indeed popular XDXD


Valentine Kiss Character Version Comparison

It's bias time! Hahaha. Of course the following sets of words are my ears' response to them. :P

1. Atobe Keigo's version. The impression is the usual "Be amazed of my prowess." It really fits the flashy Atobe character. Imagine a golden carnival date. Look! All the rides are sparkling! XD Thanks to Oshitari and Kabaji's additional vocals as there's no much to look forward since this version was the first. Though this version is quite plain, Suwabe-san's interpretation was still straight-forward--I really did felt Atobe's aura. :D

2. Oshitari Yuushi's version. Oshitari's version should claim the BEST INTERPRETATION AWARD for me. Oshitari's voice is really effective for these kinds of songs! Really really~~. I can't describe the carnival scene. What's rolling on my head is Oshitari himself and his voice especially on the part where he made smooch sounds. Kyaaa It made me roar as I am extremely convinced. Let's have a date Yuu-kun! hahahaha. The Oshitari-Shishido-Ootari dialogue in the interlude is cute. It's about "Do your best!" and "I will not lose" hehe based on my little understanding.

3. Sanada Genichirou's version. Although he's the first one to break the long-running Valentine Kiss versions monopolized by Hyotei, sorry Sanada fans but this is the SCARY version. hihi His big voice for a jolly love song is really bad I think. The "High and Mighty" impression like Atobe's is present, DEMO! it just feels different. The cold, stern Sanada. >_< You can't imagine a wonderful date with him. Hahaha. Maybe it was better if Bunta was the one chosen as Rikkai's version representive. :P :P

4. Oishi Shuuichiro's version. A normal carnival date with the calm Oishi is the picture. That's it. What's super interesting in this version comes on his interlude dialogue. I can't understand what happened but it's like something cruel happened to him and he's so hopeless (he's calling seigaku names and it seems no one has responded to him. what a pity Oishi). He wasn't able to sing well the last parts of the song because of that. Hahaha. I need to know what really happened >:)

5. Shishido Ryou's version. A Hyoutei's version comeback. In the beginning when Shishido said "Kite kure Barentain Kissu!", it feels his alter-ego just said "At last! it's my turn!" hahaha. This is like Oishi, a normal date scene though he's going to talk about Ootori during the middle of the date event. Hihihi.

6. Kai Yuujirou's version. Higa Chuu's the best! The normal "Shalalala suteki na kiss, Shalalala sugao ni kiss" background vocals was turned unconventional. Higa chuu's participation made this version enjoyable. This is the funniest among all the versions released so far. The carnival scene is with the whole Higa Chuu team and not with Kai only. nyahaha. And also, the theme is TRIBAL. =)) Sobrang kulit ang galing.

Extras

Valentine Kiss single covers are funny. Atobe, Oshitari, Sanada, and Kai's pose and outfit are all the same. They just differ in the outfit color. Kawaii! <3
